State Duma prolongs resort fee experiment until 2025

MOSCOW, Nov 23 (PRIME) -- The State Duma, the parliament’s lower chamber, on Wednesday approved in the second and third readings a bill to prolong the experiment of collecting a resort fee until January 1, 2025.

Currently, the experiment may be held in Crimea and the Altai, Krasnodar, and Stavropol regions. But the bill introduces the resort fee that should not exceed 100 rubles in St. Petersburg and the Sirius federal territory as well.

Crimea was to launch the resort fee on May 1, 2019, but the date was postponed several times, and in February 2022 all municipalities of the region filed requests for exclusion from the experiment.

The economic development ministry says that the Altai, Stavropol, and Krasnodar regions collected 1.76 billion rubles of the fee from May 1, 2018 through April 28, 2022.
